Description
The ideal breakfast during at least Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the FreeDietⓇ is a protein smoothie. I call this the FreeDietⓇ 3-Minute Super Smoothie. It’s fast, easy, and a great way to start your day.
Since you’re avoiding eggs, grains, and dairy, this is the best option for a fulfilling breakfast. It’s a great source of protein, fruits and vegetables, healthy fats, and fiber. It’s very nourishing, very cleansing, and it only takes three minutes to make.
The FreeDietⓇ 3-Minute Super Smoothie
You will need:
- 12 oz. water
- ½ cup frozen organic blueberries or cherries
- 1 serving FreeDiet™ Protein, Paleo Protein, or Organic Pea Protein
- 1 heaping Tbsp FreeGreens™ Organic Superfood Powder
- 1 Tbsp. ground flaxseeds
- 1 tsp. Psyllium Husk Powder, gradually increasing to 1 Tbsp. over 1–2 weeks
- 1 Tbsp. organic unrefined coconut oil
- 1 blender to mix ingredients
Blend the water and organic blueberries or cherries for 5 seconds.
Then add the protein, FreeGreens™ powder, flaxseeds, psyllium, and coconut oil, and blend for another 5 seconds.
Drink and enjoy within a few minutes, as it can get very thick with the fiber. At any time, add more water if too thick.
This is a great solution to a healthy breakfast for the following reasons:
Blueberries and cherries are very high in polyphenols and antioxidants, which can support healthy brain function and inflammatory response.
Unrefined coconut oil is a healthy source of essential fats and medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), which are fuel for the brain.
FreeDiet™ Protein and Paleo Protein are from a purified beef protein containing both complete and collagen proteins that are naturally found in beef. It is sourced from animals raised in Sweden without hormones or GMOs. It has a significant amount of collagen from bone broth, so besides muscle support, it also can support healthy cartilage, ligaments, hair, skin, nails, and gut permeability—great for leaky gut.
FreeGreens™ powder is a proprietary formula that includes organic ingredients with the optimal balance of greens, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and plant sources to provide premium natural sources of nutrients, antioxidants, liver and digestive support, fiber, blood glucose balance, and healthy inflammatory response.
Ground flaxseeds are an excellent source of omega-3s, fiber, and plant lignans.
Psyllium Husk Powder is a soluble fiber that helps keep you regular and is very cleansing for the intestines. That, combined with the coconut oil, makes this very filling and feels like a complete breakfast.
Note:
If you add everything at once and blend, it can get too thick with the psyllium. The same goes if you over-blend. Simply follow the instructions above for the best results.
For a more filling meal as well as some crunch, you can add dehydrated coconut chips and/or soaked nuts at the end and blend for a few seconds.
For nut milk instead of water, use a handful of soaked nuts (especially cashews) or coconut chunks and add to 12 oz. water initially. Blend well before adding the fruit and powders.
At any time if the smoothie is too thick, add more water.
